Dan,

Intel could start producing drdram themselves, that would be entertaining.

There has been a lot of discussion of this on the thread. DRAM processes are significantly different than standard CMOS processes. It would take years for Intel to become competitive again against DRAM manufacturers.

I know that your remarks were somewhat tounge-in-cheek ;^)

Hi Daniel:

Lets see now... assume they don't sell any more than the 820 / 840 volume of the past 7 months..... no Willy, no Timna, cuz you know, they are dead, dead, dead. That leaves us with roughly 1.2 MM systems out there, cuz you know, INTC is going to retrofit all 820's to RMBS and then abruptly dump this memory platform.

I'll add in an extra 240K units because I know that you are a generous guy and your mission here is to save me from myself and not cast judgment on RMBS.

That leaves us w/ 1.44 MM systems, even if Dell never sells another RMBS system again after emptying their inventory. In my limited capacity, I devide 1.44 / 144 for all of 2000 and get 1%. Who wudda thought?

Cheers,

Bubba
