Allan, Given that the Japanese economy and banking system is still a mess, I am amazed that the Nikkei was able to rise 30% from its' low. There was an article out this weekend where the Japanese government restated that the economy there was on the edge and that consumer spending was necessary to invigorate it (the opposite of what the US government is looking for). tp
