Prolife,
I'm not quite sure what you're getting at. I can say that at present, I believe christians in America may be materially blessed if they are walking correctly. They may be materially wealthy even if they are disobedient, however the "blessing" is absent. We live in a capitalist society. Not only that, America is exceedingly rich. Christians are not immune to material wealth. Remember when the Israelites "borrowed" the jewelry from the Egyptians? If it wasn't available, they wouldn't have had it. Christians want security, financial freedom, health etc. but look to the wrong sources. Jesus is our Peace. He is our Wealth also if we have ears to hear and a heart to receive.

As far as Sudan and other places where believers are enslaved, in prison etc., questions pop in my mind all the time. Believers in free countries should share their sufferings "...suffer with them as though you were there yourself." Heb. 13:3LB
Not only that, believers in places like our own have a responsibility, nay a command, to reach out to those who can't help themselves. As I mentioned to Gregor, it is quite sad that so many over here are so self consumed, that our brethren elsewhere are non-existent in so many of our minds and hearts. The "prosperity" gospel has ruined many a soul because so much emphasis is on self.

Richard Wurmbrand said that when communism fell in Romania, many christians came from the west to teach, but no one came to learn. There's much we can learn from our suffering, uncomplaining brethren. You mentioned Paul's contentment in the post you referred me to. "Godliness with contentment is great gain". 1Tim.6:6 God bless.
