Jake, Jane, and all,

Do you have a target for AXF?

George

Well beaten down again today. Oh well. Bargains all around.

File this under did you know, and as a warning to all:

1 option contract does not always, in every case, equal the right to buy/sell 100 shares of stock. Seems that one better go read the technical bulletins at the CBOE website when there are two series of options running together. For example on WCOM June 40, there exists the LDQFH and the LDZFH which both trade at the exact same price. I figured that it had something to do with the split back in December and were the same. Oooops. Seems the LDZ = 150 shares per contract and to add misery to insult, it looks as if the mistake will be costing me around 2k.

The whole thing came to my attention because I got a corrected confirmation, and I couldn't figure out how 20 contracts at $2 equaled $6,000????? Funny thing is my brokerage didn't initially know either. They sent the original confirmation with 20 contracts equaling $4000. Imagine my surprise when that got cancelled and replaced to the tune of $6000. (BTW, they still can't explain why)

I entered the trade off the brokerage drop down menu, which funny enough, only listed the LDZ series as the only contracts available at the 40 strike. They don't even recognize LDQ when I just tested the system now. Maybe I can use this to get the trade busted. Bad disclosure or something, haha.

Anyway, just a heads up on something that I have never seen occur or fell prey to before.
