they mention that the public hasn't even thought of selling so far, due to years of training. well, we know that.the implication being that we'll get a rout once they do sell. now what happens if they never think about selling? won't that keep the market afloat?

.....I've mentioned this several times.........PEBKAC!!

Saw a bit of bloomberg early this morning. This major trader
from one of the houses dealing in nasd said that if the 3000
barrier gets broken, he fears all hell breaks loose. I'm
not sure that an index number means that much to the IRA and 401k holders. A 10-15% daily drop on the close would
convince the final holdouts to reallocate to bonds or mm's.
Once that happens, the btd crowd will go into hibernation
till interest rates reverse course.

re: years of training

For several wks the propaganda has shifted (nbc & pbs busn news is what I watch). And it's less a matter of time than whether they're getting the carrot or the stick, while being indoctrinated. There's no cognative decision to be made... it's only a change in emotion that need be effected. And that shouldn't take long. Does that make sense?
