sandeep,

Thanks for posting that article. Luskin is right on the money. From the article:

The antitrust laws were designed a hundred years ago to protect farmers from the market power of government-subsidized railroads. Klein is powerful -- and dangerous -- because the application of antitrust laws to technology companies acts like deadly poison on the fundamental principles of technology economics. And these principles are what create all the upside for investors.

...because what makes Klein especially dangerous is that the antitrust laws are entirely subjective. There is no strict definition of a "monopoly," and no objective test to determine if a particular company is one. So investors have no way of knowing which company or industry will be Klein's next target. That kind of uncertainty isn't good for technology companies, technology consumers, or technology stock prices.

It's kinda funny that the MSFT haters posting here keep on cheering the DOJ while watching their own portfolios head south at a rapid rate. For some reason they don't seem to be able to grasp the big picture, or the principles involved.

Greenspan has betrayed the President's Trust and should be forcibly removed from office!! He is the Most dangerous man at the table IMHO

I just wrote this post on another thread and thought I would share it here. It is the rising interest rates alone that is causing the panic we are seeing and nothing else IMHO. Greenspan got his way and now he is allowing the markets to fall apart. We don't need this kind of wreckless leadership. He does not know what the hell he is doing or does not care.

It was a grave error on behalf of the President to reappoint Mr. Greenspan. This was clearly not the same man who originally was appointed under the Regan administration.
I made my position clear the day Greenspan was reappointed and now I think most everyone agree that a serious mistake was made. The president needs to ask him to step down so the markets can recover. Mr. Clinton would have never in an election year installed a Fed leader who would aggressively hike interest rates in the face of a collapsing stock market. Give us all a break Mr. Greenspan and stop acting like a G-DAMN traitor. You are way out of control and show no shame.
