AGN, BOL, WJCO, COO.. mentioned to watch this week (Sunday Night) is showing very good upward movement. AGN had a very nice move on a pretty dismal day. Earnings coming out on COO and many factors are moving this interesting sector. Hope for more movement tomorrow.

Allergan Breaks Out into Record Territory
by Charles Rotblut, CFA
Senior Analyst/Contributing Editor

Shares of Allergan, Inc. {AGN} raced into record territory on volume that is already more than 35.7 percent greater than the 30-day average. Though a search of several news sources gives no underlying reason for the buying pressure, today's move is a definitive break above resistance at 63 and positions the stock for continued gains over the short term.

BOL, AGN, WJCO and COO.. Lots of activity behind the scenes of these 4 companies. WJCO will not be accepting BOL's offer, COO is reporting next week and has a new line of color contacts. Growth and consolidation are the watch words in this sector. You might see some movement in OCLR as well. Now you might also try to guess who else will try to buy WJCO. Either way WJCO might have even more upside next week.

AMAT Trades at a 16% Discount PE Multiple of 31.8 X, vs. the 37.7 X average multiple at which the Semiconductors SubIndustry is priced.

Don't forget LRCX, at a 40% Discount PE Multiple of 22.6, vs. 37.7!

Nice blimps there, Jenna. Of course, I think ELON ranks w/RMBS at the top. And I'd add the triple A's to your list: AETH, AKAM, AVNX.

Gemmers,
It never ceases to amaze me how valuation comes into play near a bottom. Late shorts will ultimately get creamed.
Play the game. Add JDSU and SDLI to your list.

Jenna,

I found your way of evaluation a stock based on its peer group troubling. It is the same way a Chinese leader would criticize capitalist. If they are better than us, they are over-valued. Average is the best was their slogan (which mean everybody was on average very poor). I bet you don't own any stock which has the lowest P/E ratio in the group you listed, because they are cheap for a reason. The stock value of each stock should based on each company's growth in revenue and earning, not on a group's performance.

Jenna, another stock which might qualify as a slimline investment is SYMC. Using the 44.1 PE of the Software and Services Sub Industry vs. SYMC current fiscal year PE of 26, it might meet such criteria.
SYMC has even caught the attention of some "value" investors for this very reason. One would think that, with the concern over viruses on the 'net, the company's business would be very strong.
