If I had listened to Fleck, I never would have gotten into the markets and tired very quickly of hearing him drone on and on and on...guys like this predict bear mkts forever, and guess what, even a broken clock is right twice a day...Fleck was doing the doom and gloom thingie for months on top of months while folks (including myself) were making a ton of money...if I have to give some back now, that's part of the game and I've personally done enough smart things (like pay off the mortgage, start up nifty zero coupon accounts for the kiddies, buy some new toys, etc) not to feel too much pain...I actually have nothing against Flake and his ilk, just have a stronger belief that the millionaires of yesterday and tomorrow were all long the market...can you name me one successful market pundit that was short the market?

Personally, I think its a case of all those who missed the big runnup last year saying (with tongues sticking out of mouths) "see, I told ya so, we all knew that bubble would break"!...markets are gonna have to see quite a bit more capitulation before they even come close to my numbers of last year and I cheated 'em when I took a nice chunk off the table...tell that to Bill.

Gary, I agree with you about Fleckenstein, and his column right here on the opening page of SI is well worth reading.

I believe I have found out why "swisstrader" is obsessed with attacking Mr. Fleckenstein and a bear named Yogi. Go to the VIGN board (there are'nt that many posts there), and you will see that the "swisstrader" has revealed that he has serious losses in this bear market. I will have to understand his agony and treat him much nicer now.... Yogi
