Lather, maybe the reason GM targeted the Bay area for the EV1 is that A.C. is rarely needed there. But I understand that they are selling them in Phoenix, too.

I got a kick out of the statement "We want to show off the EV1 every chance we get." When you click on the events, they list the Corning museum on Nov. 1, 1998 and the next one is May 24, 2000 at the Walt Disney Expo and Transportation fair, which sounds like a real effort to inform the public, but alas it's for employees only! See what I mean about a half-hearted attempt to really sell the car? The main page shows "what's new for '99". Duh! Aren't we almost ready for the 2001 model year cars? Maybe I shouldn't be so critical. Maybe they don't have the money to update their EV1 web page. Should we take up a collection?
