>> You make people here sound like they are involved in a comspiracy. You are coming across as being jealous of others.

No not jealous. I just recognize that I don't have the ability (even if I had the desire) to track the pulse of the analysts, the new offerings, the conferences, etc.... That game is too fast for me. I suspect it is too fast for most other people. I think there are 4 people who used to post on this thread (and one who still does) who seem to know how to play and time trades. Either because they are plugged into the network of broker news, or because they have a knack for this kind of speculation. I don't have it. I do my thing which is value investing, and I poke along with so so results.

>> It feels like I have to defend a position I take if it is long or short. I find defending stock positions I take to be getting very old.

Glenn, I agree that you don't need to defend any position. I did not mention your name or direct the post to you. I didn't ask for any explanation. We all know there is no logic for any move in amzn's price. Why did it go down to 40, and then rise to 50 ? Might as well ask why it rains someday and the next it is sunny.

I'm sorry you're offended. But I do feel that the current momentum style is stupid, and there is no need to pretend that I wish it's practitioners any success. The sooner it withers, the better, as far as I'm concerned.

Come on Glenn, I can't ever recall anyone ever putting you in a position to defend yourself in any of your investments.
As far as your recent purchase of Amzn, we all wish the good luck with it...Unless I short it.<g>
Btw
Vign sucks. I'm stuck with it @ 37...Maybe the Bearded One was right?
