Steven, That happened to me as a young person, and is often done by denominational churches that have adapted the Bible to suit their own human agendas. After being disillusioned by the denomination I was raised in, I visited 6 or 7 others and found variations of the same theme. As a result, I stayed away from any religious belief for years. Now there is a revival of those who take the Bible, particularly the New Testament, and don't fiddle with it. I have found that these people most meet my needs for fellowship. My return to Christianity, however, was predicated on certain events that occurred in my life. I know that there are good Christians within the denominational ranks but, they have just not yet broken loose from old habits. ~H~
