Hi Ken,

You've either been up very late, naughty boy, or very early!

Sorry about the confusing abbreviations! "Trader's-5" refers to the common use among swing traders of the 5-period Stoch. setting. Cf. Clearstation...it is their default setting. And MAX is short for Moving Average Crossover...hence, the new "BTTT-MAX" system we are now using.

My thought on using Stoch's instead of MA's on daily charts for EOD trades was based (only) on a look at this chart of SAWS, with both your 8/10 and the Stoch.-5 set: 207.61.23.98

It seemed to me that in more tightly bound markets, Stoch's give better signals. But of course, when a BVSN goes from 30 to 90 to 30, MA's are more likely to keep you in the meat of the move. Probably the ideal system is a combo of the two...

TC.

Hi Ken,

Did you ever compare the 8/10 cross over system to a single MA system, like "buy when the price closes above a 10 day MA, sell when price closes below the MA"? I haven't looked at that lately, but it used to work with certain stocks.

Again, the stable of stocks was the key.
