<<***QUALCOMM has decidedly chosen SanDisk's MultiMedia Card for cell phone applications because of its slim profile, its card holder that adds about $1.50 to the cost of the handset, and its capacity advantage over embedded chips.>>

not to mention the great flexibility over embedded chips. the ability to pull a CF chip out of your CF chip holder (we'll see these in the near future) and pop in the one with your pictures of the your kid playing baseball, while having lunch with a buddy. the possibilities of CF combined with handheld devices are endless. i'm pretty sure MSFT's new handheld has a CF slot, and i'll be willing to bet the rest follow.

Speaking of cameras, I almost bought the Nikon Coolpix 990 yesterday (my first digital). Looks like a heck of a camera, and I particularly like its macro capabilities. (would also get rechargeable batteries and see how it goes with the 16 meg Flashcard.) I was hesitant because of the tendency for blues to turn purple (a common problem as I understand it). It seems that the purple problem can be corrected fairly easily with packages like PhotoGenetics. Am also reviewing the Olympus C-3030 and the Canon PowerShot S20 (but have been Nikon FE owner for 20 years). Am finding imaging-resource.com to be a good site for reviews. Any thoughts anyone?

PS. Bought my first SNDK shares at 47 the other day and am a slim ¬ point in the green.
