No need to go through batteries quickly. It is crazy to use regular Duracell or Energizer alkaline batteries in digicams. Get a set or two of NiMH batteries and a charger from here:

for $29 you get four excellent AA NiMH rechargable batteries and a Quest charger. Be sure to get another set of 4 NiMH batteries as well. These batteries will last much longer than Duracells. And stop polluting the environment with mountains of alkaline batteries. I use them in my Epson 850Z and love it.
