The point I was trying to make in the statement above is that some investors have suffered
severe financial hardship by investing in new economy stocks. I'm not blaming William or
Eugene - I'm just stating that some investors have lost a lot of money by investing in the
same stocks that William and Eugene appear to be promoting.

I agree with this.

Good question - the answer to which we don't know yet. My view is that it is a very very risky
game to buy and hold a stock that has been propped up by momentum investing.

I agree with this too. So moving forward, what is one to do in the market or should move those funds elsewhere?

Let's make an assumption, one that I and suspect Sarmad agreees with, that the Underwriters, Analysts, VCs, insiders of many of these firms are simply crooks. They do anything they can to inflate revenue and the perception of huge profit returns in the future and yet they know that will never happen. Let's say that is the current stock market. Would it not be wise to not play in this area at all?

Glenn

Eric,

I have to say...that was some pretty powerful stuff...
And i think that many of the players in this game...have been here many times before...The entire game is not really a mystery to some...And Some of the game players have sold their soul...and they are OK with that....

It's not a game that makes one happy sometimes...It's not a game that makes one proud,,,to stand in front of the mirror....Man,,,I hate thinking about selling my soul...for the almighty dollar....But at the same time,,,,The game is what it is...And the internet has changed the game.

The bankers and the dark smokey rooms...want the game back....they are out to teach everyone a lesson....Greenspan himself alluded to the fact ...when he said..."There are some very smart people...and they know what they are doing." Believe me,,,,It was not an oracle to him....He was a willing participant...He had no choice...It was all a part of the master plan...the master scheme....

They have been running small float MO MO stocks for a long time...and a time will come...when they do that again...a time will come...when the power and the forces of the market...will consolidate...and they will do it all again....

I first had the pleasure...of riding a couple of MO stocks to the moon...IOMEGA,,,Netscape,,,And then lost it all on the way down...with UUNET...

I've been squeezed to the moon...before on Micron...and America ONLINE....I've seen it all before...and it will all happen again....

You can't really change the game...It may take some time...but it will all happen again....

Like my friend...N. Riley said....I can picture daytraders trading 2 shares of a 1,000 dollar stock...soon....and that day will probably come...sooner than you think....

I don't know...this entire thread reminds me...of Several years ago...when HJ totally went off the deep end...and I was barking at the moon...and People were just really really nutty....

My entire thesis ...is based on a rigged market...and how...can the insiders...and brokers...capitalize off of a rigged market....

I think people got really really rich...for a time...and the brokers...knew they could sucker people in...and take it all back...and then ...eventually do it all over again....The shorts...will screw up....soon enough...their time will come....There is a lot of angry shorts...in this market....and they are out to teach a lesson...and that is their strength.....and that is also their weakness.....

I don't profess to know where the bottom is....But as a trader...you can make a lot of money....playing momentum stock without margin...MARGIN is the key...on the up...and on the down...if you ask me...

But this is all my opinion...and I just thought i'de put this out there for the heck of it...cause i'm feeling kind of melancholy about the whole thing....Kind of a mourning period...I guess....Really sad to think about the losses of some of my friends...

Eric, nobody holds amzn more than a few days- just look at the daily volume v. the float. This is an old story.

>>I'm just stating that some investors have lost a lot of money by investing in the same stocks that William and Eugene appear to be promoting.

Alot of people lost money buying semiconductor stocks in 1995. Or banks in 1998. Or AOL in 1996. Or Microsoft in 2000. Happens all the time. The market is a continuum, the story evolves and changes. Stocks don't just go up, come down, then disappear.

>>appear to be promoting.

Appear to be promoting? What does that mean? It sounds to me like you're assigning ulterior motives.

I'm not promoting anything. I'm communicating my investment theses. If I'm long the stock I'm on record. You shape your words like there is something sinister going on. There isn't.

>>[or] They're already in too deep - and they are essentially "buying the dip" in order to try to salvage some of their losses.

That is among the most naive things I have ever heard, Eric.

>>The New Era Mantra: Make money now at all costs - deal with any ethical implications later (there will be plenty of time to consider such issues as you relax in your villa).

You keep thinking that and you savage your opportunity. The internet is real, it's young, and it will be a larger global economic force than anyone has imagined.
Try living untouched by the Web now Eric; you can't. It's impossible. It will only become more pervasive. It's like the automobile, mass production, pressurized indoor plumbing, or the telephone, or electricity, or television. None of those came near their economic (or investment) potential in the first five years. Most importantly The Internet subsumes all other communication media. All of them.
