JDN - *OT* let me get on the broken toe thread here - I also broke my big toe about 5 years ago - I was carrying a big box of stuff in my bare feet, and kicked a concrete step pretty hard... the doctor pulled the toe out, and wrapped the whole front of my foot over a little metal piece which held the toes immobile and kept me from using the toe for support (the toe was pulled up just a bit so I used the ball of my foot to walk). I used Lynn's solution of big slippers. Also he gave me lots of Vicodan - 750s. Within about 2 weeks I was able to take the wrap off and I bought a pair of shoes 2 sizes big... if your doctor is not giving you pain medication he's a sadist.

The only reason a doctor won't give you Vicodin, JDN, apart from your having only a half a kidney on one side or something, is either because he's flat out ignorant, or because he's paranoid of the State or the DEA getting on him (or already on him) because he writes so many scripts to the trailer trash segment of his patients who come through his door milking him for drugs. --- Don't be in pain. -JCJ

JDN- After giving it some more thought, I think you may want to give some thought to the possibility that your WIFE may have obtained a Vicodin prescription for you early on and kept them for herself. That would certainly explain how quickly she brushed you off with "there's nothing that can be done" before briskly wrapping your toes and bopping out the door. --- I hate to be the one to break that to you. Sorry dude. -JCJ
