You know my position in this. I think our government has better things to do than act as the enforcer for Scott McNealey, Jim Barksdale and others. I believe government should do things such as build roads, put out fires, feed hungry people, etc.

I do know that I used to use Netscrape, and switched to IE
because Netscrape was unstable and kept crashing on me.

Hmmmm... don't you wonder why? Given that NSCP runs on the Msft OS. Note that RNWK had similar problems... only stopped by this impending litigation. Now MSFT is giving away WMT and this is having an impact on RNWK's ability to maintain their competitive position as the leader in streaming media. With the new release of WMT Microsoft (without a judgement) will squeeze RNWK out of the market. Is it good for consumers if MSFT stifles competition? What would OS prices be if MSFT didn't own the market? You mentioned that prices haven't gone up... they haven't gone down either. And look at the margins MSFT enjoys.

Regarding your scenario... you may be right. In my opinion that doesn't make what Micrsoft has done right. Futhermore if the DOJ doesn't succeed then their power will be rendered all but moot.

<<Companies who do business with Microsoft are faced with a "take it or leave it" attitude.>>

If you're in business for yourself I think it's the only way to do business. The customer is not always right. In fact they are usually WRONG.
