Eric L: Chuckle. I can understand your wish to call 1XRTT (1xMC) "vaporware" just for the fun of it, (or because the standard gauntlet is yet to be fully run) but to call any technology with both infrastructure chips and software in production now and tested in Korea, Japan and the US and due for full infrastructure installation in all three countries "vaporware" is stretching words a bit IMO.

This will not wait for further standard approval, although that will be useful as a confirmation. The spec's are set, the hardware and the software available, so onward and upward.

Whatever it is called it is happening and I prefer to call it "a no brainer", since the incentive of doubling capacity and enhancing data is attractive.

To try to be clear. I see China starting out with 1XRTT and then following on with HDR. I do not see significant installation of IS-95 A or B.

But again China is frosting. The cake begins in Korea, then Japan, then the US, then North and South American, then Australia, then ....

I see zero in Europe.

Wish you a fine holiday weekend also.

Best.
