Gottfried

From the readme files on 2000

"Rescue Disk Freezes
===================
If Rescue Disk freezes while you are creating Rescue Disks,
format the disk in Windows and run Rescue Disk again.

To format a floppy disk in Windows:
1. Double-click your My Computer icon.
2. Right-click the drive letter (usually A: for floppy drives).
Then select Format in the menu that appears.
3. Select Full as the Format Type. Then click OK.

To format a Zip disk, use the Iomega utilities."

hope this helps...if not, let me know and I'll poke around some more.

edit in: rereading your post, this probably is not your problem but how long did you wait for something to happen? On my test of the disks it took several minutes.

hi gottfried,

i agree with tc that it may be a matter of formatting the floppy. use the full format type rather than the quick.

i also just encountered the exact same thing you described, right down to the single _ on the screen. i waited awhile, but realized there was no drive activity, so i restarted (leaving all disks in place) and it worked fine rebooting into safe mode.

funny you should mention costco... i had the systemworks2000 box in my hand today at cosco. for the price you described. i'm thinking they may be coming out with a combination v2000 and internet security suite. i have awhile yet to go on blackice, but eventually plan on switching over to symantec.

:)
