Aren't you the same person who just told me that the chip companies spend a percentage of their revenues buying equipment? Wouldn't this cause you to suspect that if the chip industry grows, then the equipment sector will also grow? And do you not believe that most innovation results from new equipment causing even greater growth for that sector?

You should differentiate between the chips and the chip equipment industry,

Re your Trough and Peak comments: I think the difference is in investing style. Some people believe they can time every minitrough and every interim peak. I know I don't have that kind of market timing skill.

And I don't believe in an "all or none" investing philosophy.

Nor do I like paying capital gains at the earliest opportunity.

In any case, this conversation has strayed much too far from reality. You can have all the last words you wish.
