Ciena (CIEN: news, msgs) is powering 7 5/16 to 107, JDS Uniphase (JDSU: news, msgs) is climbing 4 1/16 to 84 9/16, Corning (GLW: news, msgs) bulling 12 forward to 180 and Digital Lightwave (DIGL: news, msgs) is charging 3 9/16 higher to 51 11/16.

Jack, I read Red Herring regularly and have noticed a just about complete absence of Ciena's name mentioned in the magazine. Even in articles that should obviously include Ciena's name such us the present one they are mute on the company. Their recent review of top companies included other companies that clearly do not match Ciena and yet they are there. Just makes you wonder if it's intentional for reasons we do not fathom. Any comments from anyone? VVarges
