No matter what the competition does to bulk up in the optical networking space, Nortel is the still leader of the pack for now and is humming what sounds very much like a victory tune.

Paul,

The article you posted hit the nail on the head...Cisco is crisco. Nortel has over 65% of the optical market and will increase its share as the shift to "photonics" continues. With a 5 year lead on Lucent and Cisco, Nortel will stay out ahead. I expect to see dead money tied up in old technology companies like Cisco and Lucent move to the market leader and winner in photonic/optical equipment-Nortel.
