AMD and Dell talk all the time.


I disagree. AMD and Dell do talk all of the time, but whether Dell is serious about AMD or merely playing Intel for better prices is a large point of contention. For AMD to tell A Salomon Smith Barney analyst that Dell asked for a chip deal and was turned down is very big news. Analysts aren't dumb, they know the difference between talk and and "offer."
