My theory is that years ago the leaders were made to look like shining beacons of morality by a press that conspired to do so. In the 40s and 50s, you would have never heard of affairs engaged in by people such as FDR, Eisenhower, Kennedy, Clinton, Gingrich, Burton or Livingston.

Nowadays, it's always fair game to delve into the personal lives of our leaders, and few measure up.

Do we blame the press for this, or is the pursuit of truth in all areas always a Good Thing?
