On the subject of justifying anything with Scripture (and not forgetting that the devil can quote it just as well as anyone else), you might enjoy the following: iol.ie It observes with clarity that there is a difference between what might be a line of eternal truth and the social contexts in which it is rendered and interpreted. BTW, I think that it is worthwhile to distinguish between fundamentalism and fanaticism. They are not the same. I have cousins who are Evangelical Christians. Their religious beliefs are vital to their lives, but they do not seek to impose them on others or to push anyone around.
