"The wogs begin at Calais" ... olde english saying

.. i confess to, among others, a little anglosajona blood, and have had canadian passports since the early 70s ... the old ones used to say 'The holder of this passport is a british subject' just under the piece that says 'Her Majesty requires all and sundry to treat this guy like one of My own' etc .... 'without let or hindrance', something like that ... well, the new ones just say you're a canadian citizen ... and when in the early 90s i discovered that at Heathrow i had now to go through the 'Foreigners/Heathen dogs' line, let me tell you, it was an enlightening experience ... but the thoroughly cockney [and thoroughly coal-black, lol] taxi¡sta who took me into Earl's Court consoled me, though he thought it was funny -g-

The whole US-M‚x border thing is just Cowboys 'n Injuns in real life ... it's been going on for near two hundred years and it ain't over yet ... people move around, it's natural, we like it, and it's good for us.

>The bonus was, I got to know Frankfurt, Cologne (great Cathedral), and Dusseldorf(Where the British consulate was). Ah yes, and the Argentinean consulate was also very helpful, but I can't remember how I ended up there...

I was in Frankfurt (the atmosphere in the train station reminded me of Detroit) and Cologne in 1987 and I still remember that magnificent cathedral building...it was during a college sponsored trip that took us all over Europe and Berlin (both sides) and Prague...that trip was the highlight of my college days

Dusseldorf..never got there but I remember my dad taking me to see a friendly game between the hometown team and Fortuna Dusseldorf which was in its prime those days. I was probably nine years old and this was one of the first games my dad was taking me to see (starting at ten I almost never missed a game...'till I was saved from a fananimal carreer when they packed me to the US to be "reformed" and get an education, haha)...My local team won 4-3 and I still remember that game like it was yesterday...never a day that went by since then that I did not play soccer and imagined myself being the next Cruyff (sp?)..I used to look like him u know...these days, with extra pounds, I resemble a SUV<ggg>

As far as Argentina goes, I just read that Batistuta/BatiGOL signed the biggest ever contract in Italy...$5.2 mil per year!!

Can't wait for the next World Cup...it will be quite interesting watching the games in weird hours from Korea/Japan.

Oh about Elian...

mi hijo
all the rest is BS, always was...
