The best info I've been able to find indicates that Seagate has disposed of all its SNDK shares. This was done over a period of at least two to three months. Seagate would have been better off negotiating a private sale, but their choice of strategy here is about as good a decision as increasing an investment in older, outmoded disk drive technologies.

A new index, created by BeyondTheBull.com, called the New Economy Index (NEI), includes 50 semiconductor, computer, telecom, online service, and biotech companies, including SanDisk. If one assumes that SNDK will do at least as well as the companies in this index, then SNDK investors may want to check the index periodically as a guide for buying or selling. The way I would use the index is to interpret a downturn in the whole index as a potential buying opportunity for SNDK.

I would also suggest that unloading millions of SNDK shares in order to raise cash for taking Seagate private is the sort of event that completely skews any short term trading program, such as Hal. Once again, it demonstrates that the ONLY way to make money on SNDK is to buy and hold for the long term, or until the fundamentals have changed significantly. What I mean by fundamentals includes product demand, royalty stream, and above all, management quality.

Aus,

Do you think it just might have something to do with the direction of the NASDQ? I have heard that many other high tech stocks besides SNDK went dramatically down in March and April that were not even owned by SEG. I have also heard that many are going up now. But that is just a rumor.
