It is a characteristic of great art that it can "mean" something different to every person, each meaning equally valid.

True art is not only a window to the essence of the artist, but a mirror allowing viewers to see into themselves.

"Revealing more about the viewer" is one of the highest purposes art can attain.

I would say that of the worst things that could be done to people about to view a great work of art would be to tell them what the experts say the work is supposed to mean.
