Julius: "Scumbag" is a bit extreme - I tried to short PALM myself, but couldn't find the shares to borrow, and the PALM puts were real expensive. At least I thought so at the time, as it's turned out, they would have been a good buy. Just curious - are you thinking yet of covering part or all the PALM short side of your arb position? Or are you just going to wait and cover out of the distributed PALM you get on 7/27? If you think that the general market is going to hold up or even improve from here, then you should expect that PALM will probably go up more, so it would make more sense to cover the short here, and take the higher PALM price later. That way, you don't care as much what the ex-distribution COMS is worth. David T.
