JC, umm, your wording, well, yes, "branding" is exactly what the BEA speaker mentioned. Though he implied that the minority was SUN, and the majority was SUN's opposition on this issue. Know what? I don't even know what the term "branding" means, really. It doesn't seem to fit in with "open systems".

By the way, for all the anti-SUN harping, BEA is featuring SUN's Java Pet Store in their Java One application server presentation. They're quite pleased to be one of the highlighted companies at Java One.

I like BEA -- their solution to what I'm working on at my real job (the one that makes money, not the web site!) is really super. But, certainly, it is all based on J2EE, and no one could reasonably deny that J2EE is a primarily SUNW creation.
