If you turn a switch on and off at a certain rate and then change that rate, it's a modulation. No? Then do it one rate and then do it at another rate and then revert back to the first rate, etc. If you vary the rate of rates, you have a modulation. Yes!

The remnants of SR will push on. It won't be abandoned because it's a valid technique and it's superior to everything else even in a primitive form.
