Yes, the fun is that CDMA 2000 First Phase (1xMC - or IS-95 C in Korean terminology) is off and running in Korea this year - repeat this year.

So the Nokia "announcement" is of historical interest - i.e. future historians will note it.

The action is with CDMA 2000 in Korea.

And then China?

For that we need those SIM slots in the plastic you alerted us to, and the software for 1xMC and probably a GSM chip (from Taiwan ?) in the chipset.

But it is all a matter of time, no?

PS Qualcomm's problem is what to do with all the money that will flow in over the next 5 to 10 years. But I trust Dr J to find good uses for it. :-)
