RamBus transfers data at a 800MHz rate. It is no longer correct to refer to it as 400MHz because both edges of the clock are active. If you were to use a normal clock to transmit rambus transactions you would need an 800MHz clock.

I believe the latest issues were involving the ECC. The RamBus port on the MTH is a direct connect to the MCH and there aren't any connectors etc.
