I started pineapple from tops a few years ago...
...they're still growing... as house plants.
They are bromilliads...
(overhead water INTO them)

I only water them about 1-2 times a week...
...Northern exposure... So far, so good.
(in So. Calif.)

All I did was to put some planting soil in a large pot/can and plant the pineapple top about 1-2 inches deep.

That's it!

I've put them outside & bring'em in during winter...
