Yaacov, I doubt that anybody at Microsoft is resigned to a breakup. Bill cannot want that. The whole of Next Generation Windows Services is based on the whole Microsoft Ship (OS and applications) moving in one direction, at least that is what I gather from the press reports.
They must fight it to the end - end being they WIN!! Giving in to the Feds is the sure shot way to piss away the fortune. Also, I doubt that Bill Gates will be hurt all that much even if Microsoft goes down to 0. I don't think this is about Bill Gates at all...
