Uh.....Post Patrol...... So where have you been during the recent rally?? Bunkered down and hiding?? I dont think anybody is perfect in the market (maybe outside of yourself) but my paper loss in PTEN is just a smidgen of my gains I have taken off the table in the rally the past 3 months in this sector. I'm alittle smarter than you might think. Its interesting.....how you reappear when the coast is clear. Have a nice day. Jane

Well look what crawled out from under a rock - Cliffie ~ Postal - puh leeeeze; save the usual after the fact Pinocchioisms for someone else. Didn;t the Nun at the orphanage teach you not to spit into the wind, not to tug on supermans cape etc ? PTEN ? - just a better buying opp Cliffie. Obviously the entire oilpatch got hit here; PTEN a little harder - just makes it a little sweeter and adds more upside. PTEN see's $30 on the next OSX rally leg & is a $40ish+ stock at peak cycle; but it won't last untill peak cycle - IMHO; it will get .75 shares of NBR somewhere - sometime soon imho. Cloyce sold at the top - as you can't very well dump right after a merger announcement now can you ? & given the nature of past Oilpatch cycles - with the usual lockup time post a merger announcement and let alone the timeframe that it takes to close a deal - Cloyce couldn't have sold for ages... - he could possibly not be able to sell untill Q2 2000ish if they enter (or are entered here now in merger talks) & who knows what the Oilpatch brings looking that far forward - given what happened in Oct 1997 and June 1998 - right ? - and people wonder why he sold (VBG) ? ... dig deep; think outside the box, know the source of the rumors; ask yourself why would Cloyce sell so much here ? - I know why...well; lets say - I "think" I know why... PTEN closes their own purchase. Gets hit by a downgrade on their SCR-exposure weakness - stock gets pressured, Cloyce gets pressured, NBR's offer looks better every day... its all a game - know it & play it. Take it to the hoop Cliffie - it's a layup off a fast break... Cliffie; you gotta remember. I just started with a toe-dip into some old fav's on friday. I'm starting here from a 50% cash position - not from a max margin level like some here. I think I had a pretty good handle on the OSX of late - ask John Clarke (VBG). ...who said start taking heavy profits back at OSX 115 ? - I was taking 20-30% off the table on each 5-7% move up; tell me what I missed ? ... who said get off margin - before the June OPEC meeting ? ... who left with all the post OSX-115 money AND got to pick up the "easy" Nasdq money during this Oilpatch correction - only to now be able to walk back on over with a wheelbarrow full of cash and get to buy these stocks at perhaps the single best risk vs. reward basis in the last 3 years; given the combination of commodity prices, dayrates, rig utilization, orderflow, earnings once again etc ? Cliffie; I took the OSX money off at the top; rotated to the easy NAZ money in April and now once again get to waltz right back on over with a wheelbarrow full of cash to pick up what is now once again - "Throw a damn dart" time in the Oilpatch ? ...trust me Cliffie; patience is a virtue and it paid off in spades. Crying all the way to the bank...but ! - with still having 20% cash & all my margin left (just in case we see ole' Nasdq 2650ish before this is all over). I caught a couple of limit orders here Cliffie; to tell you the truth; if I hadn't had some business take me away today; I would have bought more... maybe I'll be lucky and we'll see your $16 PTEN - I hope so; because I've got a whole $h!^load of cash still left (VBG) ~
