Poutines as in fries with cheese sauce? We have that. But I tried something called a poutine in Nova Scotia that was a gluey, gelatinous mass of shredded, boiled potato shaped like a cannonball, with amorphous anonymous grey meat inside, and I don't think those are ever going to catch on down here.

Haven't seen a single one such in CA. I guess it's fair to say poutines aren't routine here.
