Tony, re:Let the AMD boys
chortle in glee about the latest bump in the road, Timna, but get those PIIIs flying out of the fabs and the earnings will set records.

I agree. The one (only?) good thing I see from the Timna delay is it frees up more capacity to build PIIIs, and hopefully Willys. I've noticed Intel definitely improving on high-end PIII availability (on Pricewatch and in stores). Look at this announcement from Acer:

You might want to also consider prayer.

Tony and Intel investors,

The following are excerpts from Prudential's Semiconductor Conference held in London. Report was issued today by Mosemann et. al. (6/5/00).

1. Intel gave the lead-off presentation and re-iterated its aggressive posture regarding capacity expansion over the next two years to meet the strong demand trends.

2. Micration from 0.18 micron to 0.13 is expected to be in full volume by 2002.

3. Next generation 32 bit microarchitecture (Williamette) is on track for introduction in the second half of this year at speeds of 1.2 GHz plus.

4. The company (Intel) expressed its view that the current semiconductor upcycle could extend further than past cycles, given the explosive growth in Internet and wireless communications.

5. Prudential re-iterated STRONG BUY recommendation.

Regards,
Ibexx

Dear Tony: I am very impressed that Niles would take such a public bullish stand on INTC. To project a better than 50% price increase in 12 months really puts ones reputation out there on the line. Usually, they start much lower and raise their targets as things pan out. He must be very confident. Do you think that was the image he projected? JDN

Having said that, I certainly hope they keep Willamette and Itanium on schedule.

Tony,

I wouldn't count on it.
