I pay $40/month for my BellSouth ADSL, I think. I believe that is the price if you get the call forwarding, caller ID, etc. package. However BellSouth screws up my bill so much I'm really not sure. But that is what their ad says. Without the "Total Choice" Package, it's $59/month.

And, for this, I routinely get speeds of 1500-1800 kpbs. I have gotten speeds as high as 3600. Occasionally the speeds are 600. Why do they vary so?

New Orleans has Telocity & BellSouth ADSL, and, I think, Covad is just entering the market.

I have been informed that I shouldn't be complaining.
