RE:"The gang that cannot shoot straight and yet, by accounts of most Wall Street analysts (otherwise known as lemmings or penguins), can do no wrong.
If you have been paying attention, you probably have noticed that inteL has lately screwed up on a number of fronts and in each case they have reported that the delays or miss-ques "will have no material effect on operating results." The aggregate of these must have some negative material consequences or I do not understand what is happening (most definitely a possibility.)

I am sure that if AMD had committed any of these outrages that the market would, by now, have severely spanked both it and its stockholders.

Any comments???"

Sooner or later it will catch up with Intel. Their strategy is becoming more like a crap shooter scattering bets all over the table hoping a couple of them win despite odds being against them.

If AMD could just get a extra speed grade or two from T-bird now...

My comment is what effect will the recent market action have on *ntel's ability to sell equity and therefore have "no material effect...."?

I know this thread has suggested in the past that *ntel's missteps have been covered by its ability to sell equities and cover the difference in the Street's expectations.

Anyone have thoughts as to whether the drop in valuations will change this equation? Or have ASPs and "ramping" supply offset any failures to execute?

Hello Darbes,

Re: The gang that cannot shoot straight and yet, by accounts of most Wall Street analysts (otherwise known as lemmings or penguins), can do no wrong.

I can hear ya! I've been thinking the exact same thing all morning (week, month, year) and we all know that what you've said is true. It's absolutely amazing to me how Intel can perform so poorly for so long and get away with it and in the process of this abysmal performance get pumped by the ANALysts. BTW the ANALysts though powerful are a mere tent show to the main event.

It is my firm conviction that a company will tell one when to sell. It will do this not by it's words but by it's execution. If I were an Intel stock holder the company would now be telling me it's time to sell. As an AMD stock holder the company is telling me to hold what I've got and BUY more. AMD execution has been exceptional. The market continues to drive our competitor's stock price upward in spite of their miscues, I view this as just one more thing that must "come out in the wash" when ultimately reality must be faced. Hold on to AMD and be patient, it's a lot like fishing.

JMHO

Kindest regards,
CrazyMan
