Any thoughts on the Cyrix III launch later this month?

yahoo.cnet.com

I would hope that a 666 Mhz Cyrix III would not be competitive with 600 Mhz Duron. Anyway, if Via does release this thing in volume at the end of this month, AMD will have to ramp down K6-2 faster than they had planned.

Pravin.

5dave22, just sent Toni Beckam an e-mail about the advertising thing. Maybe we all need to put a bug in their ear. Can't hurt.

RE:"Then again, Intel might pull out all the stops - and they've already stated, "We could launch Willy any time we wanted". <g>

Dave - who still doesn't see any brand advertising."

RE:"Willy"

A launch with RAMBUS is like running a foot race pulling a 100 lb weight...jajajaja

By the way, if Timna is being ported to SDRAM, and Willy is going to have a DDR chipset, where's the volume going to come from to get the price of RAMBUS down???
