Hi Tom, that cleared it up for me. I guess I realized when I updated Quicken Saturday, that my trades weren't as profitable as I thought. That made me think that I needed some counseling on the matter from the thread. I have been rounding in 10 share lots but I have been rounding up. I think that is the inherent nature of Greed & impatience.

Potentially I could have one sell ticket tied to three FIFO buy tickets or more! That would make me crazy.

When I did it on a spread sheet it drove me crazy, I couldn't stay up with the formula's.

But now I'm totally relying on Quicken. Sure hope the software is idiot proof. :^0)

I do realize that the low profit trades I view now are going against the original shares. So probably down the road when they are extremely profitable, I'll have a different problem to confront.

Thxs
Keith

Tom,

Let's say I have 2000 shares of a stock. I put my minimum for trading at 100 shares. I update my files and find that the price has gone beyond what was needed to satisfy the "minimum" requirements to sell 100 shares. Instead AIM's telling me to sell 184 shares at the current price.

I have a question. In the above example, wouldn't you have placed a limit order to sell 100 shares, in which case the sale of 100 shares would have been triggered prior to updating Newport?

Thanks for the suggestion of rounding down...I have been rounding to the nearest 10 (up and down).

Regards,

Jack
