If George Bush owns shares in an oil company he will get raked over the coals.

Your Al Gore owns a zinc mine that is destroying a pristine environment yet that is OK and not worthy of notice if they need to evict someone to expand their operations.

And you fob him off here is as the second coming of Thoreau.

Being a leader requires you to demonstrate certain skills of leadership and management. Hiring competent or incompetent people to run your affairs reflects on your leadership ability. Being the President of the United States is a leadership position. If nothing else, the issue reflects on Gore's leadership abilities and is therefore newsworthy.

Do you honesty believe the media would have ignored the story if this had been George W. Bush?
