I have actually known a person who was born asexual (genetic defect). She went through high school without all the trauma that adolescent girls typically struggle through. She was a member of school clubs and had varying interests. Although she got along well with her classmates, outside of involvement in sponsored activities she was kind of a loner. This I surmised was do to the bonding that teenagers have around their sexual interests. As a young adult she worked in a business office and socialized mostly with family members. After that, I lost track of her.

I suspect the "Farinelli" movie is more geared to attract an audience of people who like cross sexual entertainment, than capture the true essence of Farinelli's life. If I am wrong on this, let me know.
