Now you have me singing J-I-N-G-O, J-I-N-G-O, J-I-N-G-O, and Jingo is my name-0.....

What does moral right mean exactly? Do you mean a sort of generic moral right that we all have to this earth of ours, or are you talking specifically? Because on a philosophical basis, I agree with you. (Background music "It's a Small World After All") But I do think it gets impossible to sort out if you try to say that it is their continent any more than anyone else's- as you say, they also were conquerors from afar, almost everyone was, and there are always sadly, winners and losers in border wars.

I am fascinated hearing you talk about it because I am such a product of the American school system, raised on Disney's Davy Crockett and the Alamo, and it is wonderful to get your point of view. Thank you for your patience and for understanding that ignorance, not evil is at the root of anything I say that is wrong.

Here in Dallas, there is a strong Hispanic population, and I do think it is a problem. The dropout rate in school is very high, which means that while the first generation may work very hard, too often the next is handicapped by a lack of education and language skills so the only employment they can find is unskilled-- they have families they can't support- I wonder if that is when they start showing up in the Social Services offices. (Absolute surmising on my part---don't have a clue whether I'm close)
One of Ammo's best buds came here from Monterey a year ago- his father is an engineer, highly skilled-- and again I'm wondering if like all else, you won't find a two-tiered immigration policy which welcomes the highly skilled and contributing, but tries to limit those who have nothing to offer economically.

OOops- I am late- Ammo and I are going to see Ciderhouse Rules...later!
