in other words, that is 2mbps. a lofty claim George if you're referring to voice? you must be referring to the HDR data overlay whose range is still only 2X LMDS. CDMA 1x voice is expected at 144kbps this winter; early next year in a narrowband application.

by the way, your timing for EDGE is over 1 year off. what difference does the timing of EDGE make anyway if DoCoMo plans WCDMA for March 2001, 8 months from now? WCDMA's initial data/voice rate equals the data rate of EDGE. EDGE proposed voice rate is slower than that proposed for WCDMA.

George Gilder: Isn't American Super Conductor (AMSC) the most prominent beneficiary (the future Intel) of the PowerCosm? Other wise, it could have not been identified, so clearly, 9 months ago and could have not secured such amazing contracts with the most important companies in the US economy?!!!

I would appreciate any advice in his respect.

GG,

Do you have any thoughts as to how Jolt (the Israeli co.) compares to Terrabeam and Airfiber in the metro market? Jolt is forcasted to pull in 75-100M in revs for ?01. Since you appear to have a strong grasp of the technology, do you think Jolt?s tech is up to par?

Does anyone know if Mr. Gilder still supports WAVX in any of his writings?

He's a member of the board of directors for this company.
He did not attend this years's shareholders meeting.

I'm just wondering if he still believes in this company's future.

Description of Waxexpress:

Wavexpress datacasting technology and services provides a richer content experience to the PC user with a completely scalable distribution model that allows broadcasters to monetize their bandwidth. Additionally, our e-commerce solution provides security, instantaneous fulfillment, and a payment mechanism that enables e-commerce on digital content.

This sounds like a very appealing niche and they have a nice group of big names whom they formed alliances with. Yet, revenues still remain nonexistant.

I'm wondering if Mr. Guilder still see's WAVX as a potential winning technology.

Thanks for all replies.
