I attended the meeting, and think Eckert receiving such harsh treatment was inevitable given his a) marching orders or b) decision to shield the directors and other senior management from involvement in the meeting. I think the meeting would have been far more cathartic for the shareholder base if MAT's board members had been visibly present and involved in explaining their much-reviled actions (or inaction!)in the face of the company's meltdown.
