I like this article I just posted. EMC, Sun, IBM working with Lucent to supply telecom infrastructure for "CYBERCARRIERS." In the battle of CISCO against Lucent, it looks like the leaders in FC SAN have joined forces with Lucent, in merging the FC Data Center with the Optical Backbone, counter to CISCO's approach of pushing 10GB Ethernet. "CyberCarriers integrate high- performance Internet data centers with very high bandwidth optical backbone and wireless networks." Message 13677233 "The move by Qlogic and Ancor addresses this issue. Qlogic and Ancor can help EMC, SUN, Dell, Compaq, and all the other storage networking companies to pull together the FC technology necessary to stop Cisco in it's tracks. This could even help Nortel and Lucent against Cisco if they back EMC, SUN, Compaq etc..." Joe
