Re: Harm to the consumer? Are taxpayers consumers? And are consumers
taxpayers? Perhaps both MSFT and the Government can each put up a thermometer
on their web sites. This site could be verified
by each side, on the actual costs for this
entire legal situation....

The Government site could include all the DOJ, White House,
Congressional costs for personnel, as well as the number and hourly total charges for
each attorney and each staff member cost as well. (With of course, all
government email, correspondence, phone logs, etc produced....)

For Miscrosoft, the
lost time for each executive, every attorney and related staff...etc. Their costs could be
pretty easily verified
, as the Government all ready has their information.

We the
consumers and We the taxpayers, just don't know how much it has cost US for the
Government to press this case.

It will be interesting to see if there is any reaction from the millions of MSFT
shareholders when they ask for a statement of their current retirement funds that
include Microsoft stock.

"Prevent harm to the consumer?????".....Who is kidding who????
