"There's really no reason for people to spend their lives with their head up Bill's colon, what's your excuse?"

My excuse is that I like the programming model much better, and have really not had the problems you describe. In addition, I'm not bitter.

Schmandel - if you really have experienced the kind of problems you describe, I can only assume that the systems and tech people are incompetent. Industry numbers don't support your rant.

Any honest and knowledgeable professional in this business knows that there are jobs Unix does a lot better than NT. Likewise, there are lots of jobs where Unix can't cut the mustard - that's why mainframes and high-reliability systems still have a market. But it is also true that there are jobs where the MSFT stack is clearly the best solution. The functionality and reliability of Intel-based desktops running the MSFT stack is good enough. Network and server problems are a bigger source of user downtime in any large shop.

Re: "I don't give a wet rat's _ss about MS sales, crack cocaine is popular and a big seller some places, would you have us believe that it is a good thing on that basis?"

Well if you believe crack cocaine is as wide spread and productive as @Windows or any business product for that matter you do have a serious problem.

There you see that proves it, your verbiage dictates your lack of knowledge!
